Its also nice to finally have a reason to body paint myself, haha. Some of the pictures can also be found on my Instagram here: http://instagram.com/riverphotography/

Enjoy!

I hope you liked this set of pictures! I loved shooting it and being the model too! I hope to have new ideas for photoshoots soon enough. If you have ideas, let me know! I'd be glad to take requests.

Thanks for reading.

★ Minimalistic Photography ★

I decided to try and learn how to take minimalist pictures. The minimalist style is one of my favorite and incorporating this style to my photos is important to me. I've done a few research on the lifestyle as well and I know it is something I wish to learn to do. Living as a minimalist. Yesterday, I decluttered my closet completely until I had only 41 pieces of clothing to wear. We call this a capsule wardrobe. I find that with my type of personnality, (anxious most of the time that is) it helps me relax and breathe. I am certainly a newbie in this way of living, but I hope I can grow to learn more about it.

I also took some photographs with the minimalist style in mind. They are very simple, shot in bright daylight, with a white canvas as background. Here they are:

I hope you like them! I personnaly am pleased with the results. I enjoy following minimalist photographers on Instagram and it inspired me to make myself a new Instagram account for my photography projects only. I will use it for practice, but also to show what I am working on, and how I am using my new camera.

I hope you enjoy and if you wish to follow me on Instagram, my account is @riverphotography

Thank you for reading!

Room Decoration !

Last week, I woke up with the brilliant idea of redecorating my room in its entirety. I thought I would make a post to share the experience. Back in May 2014, I moved in my present house with my parents. I found this room in our basement. It was red. Or hot pink, can't decide which really. Even the ceiling was hot red/pink. Abominable if you ask me. There was also terrible tapestry that looked like it came out of the 70's. Simply terrible.

So, after looking online for ideas of color palettes I saw that mint colored rooms was quite in fashion. I thought, "It would look very nice down here, and light the room a bit". I wasn't wrong, but I found it quite hard to find the right color in stores. I trusted my guts and bought a can of paint that looked quite the same shade I had in mind. When came the time to paint my walls, I discovered that indeed, it was a beautiful color, and it would look very nice.

But as the paint dried, the color changed. I really should've listened to my Mother about this. The color became a harsh, fluorescent green-yellow tone. I couldn't decorate my room accordingly because nothing quite fitted with my walls. So,..last week I finally decided to do something about it. I had been in that room for quite some time now with this hideous color, it was about time!

Plain white seemed like the perfect solution. White goes with everything, and decorating the room with colorful things like pillows, carpets, and paintings seem way easier when you have a neutral background.

So I painted all of my walls white, along with both of my cabinets and also one of my nightstand. I had two, one white and the other gray. Ugh, I don't even want to think about the horrible combination.

I took some pictures of the before and after, but I am afraid that the "before" picture doesn't show the real color value of the greenish yellow nightmare. At least you'll get an idea of what I did.
Here it is:

So I hope you enjoyed reading this little post and see how it turned out!
I will be writing to you soon.
